Some cube mess and other attempts

A short comment: I used to draw a lot nudes and also lots of other things, people and animals from my imagination as I was a teenie and in the time of my study. I was actually going to become an illustrator. Didn't work, I had to earn money. Therefore I had performed a regular dull graphic design for last 20 years. After a long disease I turned back to my original interests which is drawing, SciFi and children books. I also started to learn zBrush and digital painting.
As I said, regarding drawing by heart I'm not an absolute newbie, but I know that I produce some permanent issues. It's why I'm here. The cube trick is good, it really helps to adjust a body in the imaginative 3Dspace. Thanks.
As for the historcal study: I have LOTS of reference images in my storage regarding primary victorian era and art nouveau, but it's my story and it IS eclectic. I just let the imagination play a bit.
Generally, I'v got quite shitty graphic tablet. I need to work with a lot of pressure, so there is no dynamism and not real fun at digital drawing. But I do my best.
Well, it's messy again but THIS is going to be my final project. There is just ONE human beeing on the image, the other characters are not. But so what, it's my story and I'm performing the picture just for fun.
As for my goals: I wanted to learn mental tools to fit a dynamic model in different perspectives of space from imagination. This course has already helped me a lot.
That's the head exercise. I could draw them more correct and precise, but it would be extremly boring. I don't try to "as good as", I just try to meet my own expectations. And my expectation are to depict the characteristics, the age and face expession within minimum of time.
Here are my models for the fold study. A scene from "Gangs of New York". There are male and female character depicted and different types of body shape. And some folds. I admit, I'm not good in drawing draperies.
The scene from below once again. I just wanted to try out the method directly on a bit more complex theme. It's my own story, a quite eclectic mix of classical SciFi, steampunk and action with some dead bodies, of course. It's not my final project, but I'm having fun on all sketches. And sorry, I don't try exactly to copy your workflow. You told yourself, it has to be fun. The original is quite small, so are the proportions partially a bit rough.

Profesor PlusI like your process and thanks for sharing some thoughts with us. There's quite a mix of work here!
I think your whole attitude to the illustration is great: to have fun and explore and not put too much pressure on yourself is the main idea behind the course and our artistic journeys hopefully!
The head drawings look good, and I think would mostly benefit from showing less of the far side of each face. Check out my project "drawovers from my course" and you'll see a few tips there about how to connect the head itself to the neck. I think that's something that will help you particularly as I see the common theme that the neck area looks weakest across these drawings. Its quite an important area to get right - if you work on that a little more I think these (already good) drawings will really stand out even more!

@tomfoxdraws Hello Tom, sorry for delayed answer. During the whole period of the creation of the scene I had also to care for serious familiar matters. I was working on a camping table, my graphic tablet was rubbish (meanwhile I've bought a new label device by Huion, feels like a rocket) and I was forced to make a long breake few days after I had finished the work.
Well, I admit, I didn't pay a lot attention to the neck area. It was just uninteresting for me in this moment, I was busy fixing other issues, which were some perspectivical views of body and limbs and static poses. I just don't like them, I feel more confident by drawing of everything caught in movement. After all the months passed since the project finish I've got a fresh view and see what you mean. So I'll try to pay more attention to the entire sketch even if I'm working on a particular problem. I've added some old model study of mine for comparison. Quite out of training presently, I know.

@delamaros Thanks a lot! I do my best and I'm very happy that there are still people looking at the project. It's a big motivation.

I just started this course and your sketches and projects is what has caught my attention the most. I have read that you like to draw animals, so I recommend you to see CLAIRE WENDLING's sketchbooks apart from all kinds of characters, she draws many animals, especially horses and cats, with an extraordinary movement.

@delamaros Hello Oskar, I've taken a glimpse on Claire Wendlings work, great job and impressive easiness of drawing. Thanks for the hint. Regarding myself, I had been active many years for equestrian customers and performed also some other jobs. There are two VERY old websites of mine still online if you like to take a glimpse on them.

And if you google "anelluk" you'll find my vectorial designs.
However, I'd like to devote myself subjects being really interesting and fancyfull. A "horse artist" is just a small and not very challenging part of my interests. I loved fantasy and Sci-Fi as a young person and actually wanted to perform this job as a professional illustrator. What I'm doing presently ist just coming back to my original preferences.
