I don't have acrylics on hand, so I used a set of gouache primaries I had buried in the depths of my art container. I chose to use the same image as the course tutorials rather than my own, as I wasn't sure whether the same painting techniques would translate across the different mediums, and it seemed better to compare my result against the same image in case anything went amiss.
I was initially concerned about layering the paint, especially in the sky, as gouache can muddy very easily. But I'm really happy with how it worked, and how beautifully the techniques for acrylic translated to gouache. Even the 'glazing' step (I just had to be a little more careful to avoid smudging).
Overall I'm really please with how it turned out in the end! The colour palette is a lot cooler in tone than the tutorial, but I actually quite like the more muted greens :)
I really enjoyed this course, and can't wait to apply the steps I've learned to new paintings!

Professeur PlusOh my gosh Sarah I am blown away!
It’s so exciting to see the first rendition of the demo painting. I got so excited seeing when you posted this the other day that I sent a picture to my family, (the reference image is of my family farm), and completely forgot to reply here!
I’m really glad that this process translated over to your gouaches. I love what you did with the cooler color scheme, it makes the painting have a whole new feeling of calmness and serenity. You are so talented! I can’t wait to see more of your work!
Thanks so much for taking my course, it was a pleasure having you as a student. <3
