I really enjoyed the course and learnt many new techniques. This is my first use of masking fluid, for example.
I felt that Version 1 lacked impact so I had another go, zooming in in Version 2, but still with the road tax sticker as focal point.
Most was done with just two colours Burnt Sienna and Cerulian Blue. Except for the grasses as I wanted them to be a bit more lively, but Im not sure that worked.
Looking forwards to any comments and thanks for the course, i really liked all the encouraging comments in it!

Professeur Plusthis is a brilliant choice of subject - i would love to paint this ! BUT -it is more difficult than it appears. Reds are always hard to paint - somehow they always look dull when dry ! Chosing burnt sienna is correct ! To make it richer you have to do layering - start with raw sienna or yellow ochre for first 2 layers. Let them dry, then 2 or 3 layers of burnt sienna -each time wait for them to dry befor the next one - leave some gaps in the wash. look at the making washes exercise in the course. Build up the tonal depth this way. Use spattering and incising- and also bruising - during wash application. This way you will build your texture over a rich colour base. Good luck - great subject - worth another few goes !
