Hi, I’m Yen - a freelance Illustrator from Sai Gon, Viet Nam. I’m so gratefull to have a chance to take this amazing course by teacher Aljoscha Blau! Thank you so much for creating such a fun and informative class, I love it and have learnt a lot!
.
I'm that kind of artist who always focus in details. I put pressure on myself to create flawless drawings and illustrations, I know it sounds harsh but that's what happening in my head. That thought pushes me breaking my own limit, passing my bounderies sometimes and rewards me satisfied feeling after I finish a drawing. But after 2 and a half years, I feel tired, I really miss that joyfull feeling of drawing and painting fearlessly. That's why I came into this course which I know can help me get through this.
And Yes! It was so fun and effortlessly healing.
.
I hope you enjoy my little project. I filmed some of my process, hope that's bring you joy as it does to me. Let me know what you think, i'd love to know that!
Thank you!

Professeur PlusHey dear Yen,
I was for a while not on Domestika, so I just saw your drawings here. Thank you so much for doing such a great series of drawings and for posting it here (with videos on top, cool) Really good drawings! I ve been watching a bit how you painted the Metal Puffer Fish, you use quite a soft brush as I see... All in all I like very much your art, specially drawings like from Childhood memories series. I wish you interesting projects!!!
Have a good start into the new year, all best for you))

Dear Mr Aljoscha,
Finally had time to check Domestika, so happy that you left a comment on my project. Thank you so much for your kind words, really, it means a lot to me!
I used Arches Rough Paper for my Metal Puffer Fish piece, which absorbs so much water, so I chose to use a traditional Japan brush because this kind of brush holds a lot of water and color in its hair, which makes washing colors smoother and faster.
Also, knowing that you like my Childhood memeries series really makes me so happy. It's my personal project that I put so much love and effort in. Thank you so much!
I really enjoy your course and your arts. So effortlessly beautiful!
I wish you all the best things and may the force be with you!
Yen
