Hi guys! I thought I would open the forum by showing you all how my final project evolved from idea to finished result. :) Hope you like it!

This was the sketch I made after deciding on a couple of things like style (geometric) and colours (earthy).

First off I made the macramé frame, beginning with the top before continuing on the sides.

Then I worked on the X-shape in the middle

Before starting on the woven details I used a thin string and tied vertical clove hitches to outline the shapes in the middle

I began on the tabby weaving "backrounds" and also wove the soumak outline around the circle.

After the tabby weaving I added rows of short bamboo strings using rya knots to fill the circle.

With the rya fringe brushed and carefully cut I started weaving with ribbons using rya knot loops in rows.

When the circle was done I started on the side triangles. I wove with chunky wool and a thin string between.

I've made two versions of this design and this is the larger one. I hope you like it! :)
