This was an experiment in many ways and therefore not the best of results. It was my first attempt at bending bamboo around legs, at trying weaving as shown in the Danish cord class, not using Danish cord but tarred twine for an outdoor project, not using nails (as I was afraid of weakening the bamboo) so I was limited to doing warps without weaving, and finally using a smaller tensioning dowel to try making it tight since I didn't have the weave to help, i. e., too many variables, but still enjoyable.

Professeur PlusThose are a lot of variables that you were working with, John! Ultimately, what you achieved is very impressive, tidy work. It looks like the round profile of the material forced the weave down to the meridian of the rails, perhaps not what you were hoping for? One solution to this could be to add a thin cushion, which could look quite nice. You could still have the beautiful wrapped rails as a feature, plus of course the natural cushioning effect of the weave itself. Overall, wonderful work, congratulations!

@hello_heidemartin Exactly, that (the lower level of the weave) was an unexpected result and one that my wife and I agreed would be remedied with a thin cushion. Good eye.
