Hello from Istanbul,
I must say I had a very serious, hardworking experience in this course Hugo! Mostly I had kind of “play and let go” type of attitude in earlier courses but this time especially with the second unit I lost myself in the perspectives… The content itself is hard to acknowledge and me struggling to follow with the translation subtitles, I wondered how I would succeed to finish this course! I watched “Fall in Love with our USk Instructors 5: Hugo Barros Costas” session the other day and decided to give a go 😉. I tried a couple of drawings in b&w to exercise perspectives and then colored them. And finally the Madrid scene … I had two versions , one close up in a A4 size and the other in A5.
I am not as neat and patient in my linework as many are 🤷♀️ and I found it more difficult to paint the larger scene ( A4, I mean )
Thank you for teaching and guiding us thru all the steps Hugo! It helped a lot 🙏🏻

Professor PlusHi Gül,
Thanks for the struggle :)
After seeing that big part of the Domestika courses give you "tricks" but don't teach you to understanding them , I decided to do something different and explain deeper concepts. I am not sure if it was a good idea?!
Sorry for the translation!! Anyway, drawing is an universal language!
I wonder what made you change your ideas on the youtube interview ? 😉
Just one advice : in all your sketches, the roads/walkways are always too inclined !
As this lines are close to the eye level they should be almost horizontal, generally.
Perspective is easy you just have to understand that usually there is only one horizontal line (HL) (eye level) and the other lines the further away they are from this HL, the more inclined they get ( they cannot be parallel like you did on the Madrid sketch ( big building - right) .
Anyway , your project is really good! A pleasure having you in this course. Don’t stop sketching and I hope to sketch one day with at the amazing Istanbul ( a keep so many good memories from this city! )
Cheers
Hugo

Plus@yolahugo_ first of all thank you for your dedication on responding each one of us with your truthful comments.
It was a tedious work at first glance but it is imperative to know the basics to play with them later. I totally agree with you.
It was me realizing that I should go on drawing as many sketches as I possibly could to get to a certain level of understanding and capturing these basics. I am always impressed and motivated by my USK instructors 😍
Thank you for the specific pinpoint and correcting my mistakes. I will keep on practicing. And I really hope to see your panoramic views of Istanbul in the near future 😉 🌹
