First layer, painted on dry paper, using neutral pink and blues for shadow colours.White back of swan accentuated by adding grasses. Soft edges of grasses created by dropping the paint into damp paper.Second layer added, to darken tones and add hard edges, such as the grasses and reeds. These were applied using a rigger

Ah, I see. @raysofsunshine I don’t always get to see pieces on the forum posts. But if you post your work in the “final project” section at the end of the course, I’ll always get to see them.
@pronker_therover hi Dee. Thank you. The book is going well thank you and should be published early next year. I did use a mix of black and magenta in darker areas such as where the base of the swan meets the grass.

PlusThis is so lovely Sarah! I can see you are using bits of the courses you already taught here on Domestika. The background grasses etc.
Did you use a watery lamp black over the Q magenta? They are both very strong colors. The blending is so soft.
