Such a finely crafted, sensitively observed and cleverly thought-out text! Every word fits here and the whole thing has a narrative breath that sounds like the beginning of a novel to me. And then wonderful sentences like this: "But she always felt a quiet, testifying presence of her inner flow of words through the walls." I could follow Evelyn, a character who thinks and feels like this, for hours, for pages: "Exactly where nobody was at home anymore, she felt connected, she felt something that could best be described with the word home. She had a strong longing for these aging, slowly crumbling and yet enduring walls that were abandoned. It was as if they understood each other." I thank you!
@isabelle_lehn Wow, thank you very much for your feedback! That really makes me happy and motivates me. It's my first short story. :) So far it's always been 'just' poems.
