Very good work. I like all the photos, the rhythm and the layout of the publisher. Now, the virtual ones of the magazine to see how they are are to upload a note. Bravo.
In general, I see the photos too "watercolor". I don't know if it was due to a noise reduction filter that was too intense or if it was something you did on purpose. Personally, I like that the photos don't have that plastic and digital look, like they lack grain. Try putting a noise at 5% with the action that I have in the course, and see how you like them better. I would certainly like these photos better with a little noise.
On the cover, be careful with the redness of the skin, which is very marked. Both on cheekbones and neck.
The same in the black and white photo, those marks are a bit strange. And behind the ear has a white thread that would erase.
Well, I had already added some noise ... Even the interior photo I think has too much (although it is not appreciated here). Despite slightly filling in the shadows with an umbrella as a fill light, I had to turn them up a bit more in lightroom and that generated quite a bit of noise in certain areas.
The details of the redness and the white thread I hadn't even noticed .. thank you! :)
@jalvarinophoto very good advice, with those notes and giving a second visual, things look differently. That detail of the ear, what an eye! With the noise I imagine that the idea is to recover a little the sensation of skin texture, right?
@carlosglez @microbians I like noise to take away from digital images the soft feeling it has when shot at low isos. It is not academic, it is a matter of my taste. Bear in mind that most of the photos I take are taken at high isos (type 1600) and I am used to a texture in the photos that when I shoot them at 100 they seem too clean.
With ISOs so high do you shoot? and me with the mania of always shooting to the minimum possible ... even working with a 5D Mark II, from ISO 1000 it seems too much to me ... any advice on noise processing for those extreme cases?
@carlosglez Well yes, many of my photos are at very high ISOS because I like to photograph in very low light environments (I come from the film world) and even in the studio with very low power flashes and high isos. I barely process the noise, I find it interesting to give atmosphere in some cases. In any case, in the latest adobe programs the raw has a scandal noise reduction treatment, and the capture one does too.
ps: Extreme noise is not at all 1000 ISO on your camera, print a photo shot at 1000 iso and it works great. Try shooting at 3200 with the 5dmkII and then we talk lol
PD2: Try to make black and white by shooting high isos and underexposing. It is a very interesting result reminiscent of the mythical TriX 400 reel forced to 1600 or more ...
