'West Coast' Collection of Woven Wall-Hangings and Wall Art

The 'West Coast' collection of handwoven wall art and wall-hangings was created during lockdowns when access to my looms was restricted. I began to explore many different processes that would enable me to create new and exciting artworks.

I went back to hand-dyeing yarns to experiment and push my approach to colour. I began hand-spinning my waste yarns from previous collections and from workshops to create new yarns that I could then reintroduce into new work. I also began working with different shapes, changing the scale of my designs and exploring different craft disciplines to integrate new ideas into my work.

It was an entirely different body of work than what I had produced before but has broadened the scope of what I can do, especially as many of these new ideas can be applied to my original designs... Watch this space!
