Finally managed to find some down time to cast! This is my first attempt.
Learnings :
1) Write down (plan ahead & test) colour recipe if mixing custom colours, in case you have a toddler throwing a tantrum while casting and you get this gorgeous colour but can’t remember exact recipe 😅 Pretty sure Phil mentioned this I probably got excited to cast.
2) I used a bit too much material for the first layer, it set pretty fast & thick and I ended up not really needing a third layer but…it also made the weight kinda pull in some facets while setting. So as Phil said, you can always add more layers if needed.
3) I only had the option 0.3mm and 0.8mm ppe, I went for 0.3 as the 0.8 seemed super thick and may be hard to fold. Maybe that’s partly the reason why some facets pulled in but scoring and folding was fine on 0.3, didn’t have snaps. I used frosted ppe.
4) For some reason my glue gun didn’t hold the casting wheel well, came off mid cast, I ended up using double sided tape.
Thank you so much Phil for sharing this super cool lesson and I love your way of detailed teaching. I’m gonna make my own patterns next and cast. Super excited!

Professor Plusit is an amazing first casting , well done! Yeah, I think you've diagnosed it perfectly with the 0.3mm vs 0.8mm PP. Go for 0.8mm next time. you'll get more stiff mould when casting and the fine lines will be more pronounced.
What casting material did you use?
