I was gifted a loom months ago, but this was my first attempt to learn how to use it. I altered the project a bit and did it on the loom rather than a frame. My first attempt was too dark and had too many mistakes to feel great about putting in the hours to finish it and I ended up cutting it off half way through. My five year old told me I needed "mostly pink and yellow" so that was my starting point! The yarns are all reclaimed so they were different texture which helped me learn a lot about working with different materials (and changed my plan as I realized how time consuming it was to work with very fine alpaca yarns!) The shapes weren't at all what I initially drew, but I couldn't get my drawing to stay in place on the loom, so I gave that up pretty quickly. I saw a fun piece online with lots of pom-poms and challenged myself to figure out how to do it myself. Lots of mistakes, especially with tension, but I enjoyed the course and process and learned a ton!

Professor PlusLauren I'm so impressed! I love that you integrated multiple different techniques in here. The overlapping shape in the top right corner is perfectly done and the binding is really neat. Can't wait to see what you make next!
