As a shoemaker, I adore your embroidery and imagine you could do most of the stitching without reaching inside the shoe. If you ever want to embroider first, then make the shoes, please get in touch! simpleshoemaking.com
Greetings, I am wondering where you live, I am in the US and could mail you some soles if you live in the US - otherwise you might use an old flip-flop sole. I usually work with leather, but have a few fabric styles - it might be fun to start with simple sandals, as in this photo. As you can see, the fabric band is fringed on the edges, then stitched to the sole. You could also turn the edges in and then stitch the fabric band to the sole, and add some embroidery to the turned-out edge. I'm going to make a pair for myself now that I think about it! oh, i can't send you the photo, if you would like to send an email to me, I will send photos of shoes and the sandal, and directions for making the sandal. Send to: simpleshoemaking@gmail.com
