Congratulations on finishing the course and for this image you share.
Here are a couple of comments, some positive and others focused on areas to improve.
The good thing about this image is that it is well understood what it is about. The castle is well represented, and the general atmosphere of the image is consistent with the story.
You could improve according to me, the following:
Design:
The grass and stones in the foreground don't look very visually interesting. What they lack is to be less stylized. You have to understand how these objects work in real life before styling them. Also, they lack volume. They are not very understandable as three-dimensional objects. What I recommend is to have some references in view when you work on an image, both for color and design. So you will know exactly how to represent these objects.
Colors / values:
For now, the composition does not work as values. That is your structure, your spine. But in the case of this image, neither the values nor the colors manage to base the concept. That punishes the image a lot.
TIP: To improve this image quickly, put it in black and white in Photoshop and find a reference image for your image. Analyze well the contrast and how they move the eye in this image and try to adapt them to yours.
The result will not be perfect, but you will have learned and developed your graphic sensibility. Repeat this exercise and things will feel more and more natural and satisfying to you.
I hope it helped you. An apology for the delay in commenting on your work.
@jbfraisse Hello.
I take note of the mistakes I have made. The truth is that I don't know how to make funds. Hence, I have made the decision to sign up for this course, waiting for feedback to improve, especially on the subject of composition and contrasts, since I am aware that I have suffered. A feedback that, if I had received it when I uploaded all the exercises, surely I would have improved. I would have been grateful to have this feedback during the course, since this exercise was delivered in black and white two weeks ago and not in the portfolio, since this can hurt me. If I remember correctly, also twenty days ago I uploaded another fund that was worse for me and I looked for feedback to see how to fill it in but I did not receive it either.
I always had the references handy. I have several stone textures, but either I put a lot of contrast and it is not appreciated what it is, or they stay flat, as it happened to me in this case.
Anyway, as I have commented, I take note of the failures so that in the future, when I have to draw funds, I will not commit this failure again.
