Hi Sarah, can you give me your opinion on these Kingfisher paintings. I was pleased how the first one turned out of the 2 Kingfishers on the branch and thought the splashes really added to the composition and bought it a live. I then attempted to paint the other one in a loose style. I was pleased how the Kingfisher itself turned out but wish I hadn't added the splashes at the end because I thought this time they detract from the bird. What do you think? Anyway it is all a learning curve and I will keep persevering. Just to add after completing this course I am gaining confidence and in the past would have ended up adding too much detail to the loose kingfisher.

Prowadzący PlusHi @hackoart Nigel. These kingfishers are marvellous. I particularly like the 2 on a branch. With the second one, keep your splashes nearer to the bird and branch. Make them larger by the bird and then smaller as they spread out. And think about how they aid composition. If in doubt, pencil a few in first to check that it will aid the composition. I normally only splatter a few at a time to be sure and only have them going in a couple of directions maximum. Hope this helps!
