The above link takes you to the interactive version of my bubble chart. This visualization graphs the top 100 words found across Wikipedia page descriptions for both Hugo and Nebula winning novels. Can you guess the genres from the words?
Except for a little bit of R, I have not coded much. So this project was both challenging and rewarding! I frequently messed up the syntax in both colab and p5js and had to either repeat the tutorials line by line to figure out where my code had gone wrong or ask my partner (who is more experienced than me) for help. So I've included screenshots of my all my final codes in case it helps others who might be struggling at various steps.
I had fun customizing the final interactive bubble chart. I really wanted to make the text more readable, especially lower down, so I had it increase in size when hovering over. There is a glitch on the very top bubble ("Dune"). I can't figure out why the second column value will not increase in size with the mouse hover like all the others. Give it a try and let me know your thoughts.
This course was fabulous! Thank you so much, Luiz, for sharing your expertise and for designing this creative project!
