Sean Sketchbooks Process

I designed a series of covers and had them printed, then filled with blank sheets. It's a great leave-behind gift, and I have an endless supply of notebooks. I carry a notebook to jot down thoughts, sketch ideas, or write grocery lists. Some of my sketches are so bad that I write what they are to understand later. If I see something I like in a film, like a color palette, I shoot the screen, print the image out, and tape it into the book. Quality is less important than keeping a record as a reminder.

I find that something sticks in my head better if I use my hand to write it down than using the computer for notes. It forces me to slow down and not be distracted. It's a great tool whether one is great at rendering or, like me, terrible
