RECONNECTED SERIES

The Reconnected series was inspired by the reconnections I made from trips I've taken to the Dominican Republic from 2009-2013. The photographs I chose depict many aspects of the Dominican Republic that I love: family, the people, and things that make our culture unique. This work differs from my past work because it focuses more on people as opposed to the iconography of my latino/Dominican culture that i’ve done in my past work. This work is less stylized and clean. I let go of the perfectionist side of myself and accepted the unpredictable method of print making and worked with what may have seamed like a mistake and let it take shape in the art piece.
