“Masking and Preserving In this lesson, we're going to use our masking techniques to preserve areas of extreme highlights in our painting. We're now committing ourselves to our watercolour paper. Let's get going. These are the tools I will be using to apply the masking to the paper. First of all, the steel nib dip pen. This is to get nice straight lines and I will be using the T-square to do that, as well. I'm going to be using an old paint brush handle, which we can use to roll and get random shapes on our rocks. Alongside the artwork he creates, David teaches watercolor painting and hosts events including the International Watercolor Masters Exhibitions. He is an elected member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolors and the National Watercolor Society of America.
