Redmer Hoekstra graduated from the Art Academy in Zwolle (Netherlands) as a visual artist and illustrator in 2009. His work plays with form, meaning, and function, giving birth to strange, surprising, and funny illustrations that question our view of the world.
He works with fineliners, creating light and volume through shading, which gives life to his drawings. The purpose of Redmer’s work is to make people smile and think about their world and reality.

This is an artist with an overflowing imagination. I would like to find a similar creative impulse to fill my sketchbook. Redmer presents very well his technique for rendering lights and shadows by means of hatching and producing very detailed drawings. I come back to this course viewed less than a year ago because it is well designed and the style of this inspired artist inspires me.
