My project for Typography Sketchbook: Drawing Letters with Style

The southern city of Adana, located by the Mediterranean's eastern edge, is my hometown. It was my inspiration for this assignment.
I wanted the name of the city to be the center of attention, so I placed it in the middle of the page. Turkish people, especially us Southerners, are known for being welcoming, so adding "Welcome to" was a no-brainer.
I am new to lettering, which is why I decided to go for a simple script before attempting something complicated and getting lost in it.

The Taurus Mountains are synonymous with the city. There are lots of citrus trees; Adana is famous for its oranges and has a festival dedicated to orange blossoms. Adana's sunny weather, beloved by the locals except during the scorching summer months, is an important characteristic defining the city. That is why I included a mountain range, an orange, a somewhat abstract orange blossom and a partial view of the sun in my composition.
