Storm

I painted this image of Storm from the X-Men as a commission for a patron's private collection. I kept her classic 90's costume but really wanted to show her regalia as Queen Ororo. The seated throne pose is always good for that and the single source stark lighting supports it. I used gouache paint, black colored pencil, and graphite for the media. I like to have certain areas very refined and others totally unpredictable.. just like life.
