My project for course: Creative Watercolor Sketching for Beginners

Dear Laura, thank you very much for this course. It has been an amazing (watery) journey, and you are a wonderful teacher. I bought a set of watercolours two years ago, but I never used it much. I always felt that waiting for colours to dry is a huge break for my creative flow. But your course has been a game changer for me. Having no training in visual arts whatsoever, I really appreciate how you convey the basic techniques, while at the same time open up a whole range of possibilities to explore and play. Also, your way of using sketchbook is an adventure on its own, and I don`t think I will ever again used the sketchbook in a different way :)
I learned a lot about the value while making a monochrome work of my earlier paintings, an important lesson.
For my end pages I played with the theme of passage and transcendence. My notebook was not really made for watercolour, so occasionally I had colours bleeding through pages, or page surface tearing up. But I just stapled another piece of paper on it and kept on working. I also used some wallpaper texture to print with watercolour and it worked really fine. I incorporated a net (I bought some onions and they were packed into it:) into some illustrations and I really liked the texture it gives the pages.
Overall I had lots of fun. I learned a lot and got very inspired by you. Thank you!!! Sanja
