As for your graphite work, I see that you applied all the techniques to your work and there are some that look better than others. I like the texture you applied over the bottom with the circuling. Generally speaking it looks good. I think the fault is in the texture that you applied in the background since the lines of the tones are very noticeable. I think with the smudger it would help you match the tone. Keep in mind that because it is such a large area, applying the tone is not going to be easy. This happens to all of us. But you are on the right track. The characters are interesting, I think that with more practice and observation in the not too distant future they will look better.
