Well, first of all congratulations and congratulations on having finished the course in such a brilliant way. The result of the scenery is very suggestive and evocative. It is evident that it is a very elaborate work in terms of its construction but I think that what really completes the atmosphere and the tone of the image is the careful lighting and its subsequent editing. It is true that the image is somewhat complicated due to the large number of elements that appear on the scene but it is well composed. The use of colors and textures very well complete the whole and the idea that you want to convey.
The variations in the treatment of the image that you give to the special edition, adds more atmosphere to the scene but perhaps unifies it too much in some areas.
On the other hand, I have to thank you for the fantastic development you do of all the work in its phases and the different applications such as the CD cookie and others. Without a doubt, it is something that adds a lot of value, especially to people who do the course after you. That is one of the philosophies of the course and of Domestika itself; share to learn. Therefore, as I said, thank you very much for your work and the exhibition of it.
I think it is a very good job, but after making some consideration, I would like to briefly discuss the subject of graphics and the choice of fonts. I would like to make it clear that this is a very subjective matter but I find it interesting to highlight some issues. In my view, the choice of fonts you have made and the place they occupy on the cover seems a bit forced and confusing. The Papyrus is a font with a very epic and medieval tone, which is why in the eighties it became very famous among publications and films of the genre. However, currently perhaps due to saturation and its marked personality it is not widely used. In addition to all this, you have used resources such as shading or contouring that make it even more spectacular. It is also placed over an area of the set that has many elements and is very confusing. I wonder why you have not used that fantastic dark space in the upper right corner to put the cover texts a little smaller. I also don't understand why the group name appears in Papyrus along with the beginning of the title and the rest with a different type. I think that brings some confusion between the two terms. All of this is not critical, it is simply evaluations for you to reflect on the use of fonts. I will tell you that there is a rule in typography that usually works and is not to use more than three different fonts in an entire job. Perhaps it would be interesting if you unified a little and used the variations offered by types such as italics, bold, extended, condensed, etc.
In any case, these last observations are questions that are left to the discretion of the designer so you don't have to pay attention to me.
It has been a pleasure having you and your work on this course, Alexander. You have been an example of work and dedication. Again I congratulate you and thank you for participating.
Thanks Oscar for all your comments.
I think there is a problem when including many elements in the scene, but I think the problem is mostly in the front angle if you see a photo, in the process that I have included, which is diagonally that gives it more space and amplitude. maybe I should try taking another photo at that angle.
As for the variations in the image that you make in the course, for me it is a methodology that is a bit complicated, I do everything in a different way. As I have done other courses that give us image editing methods, one keeps the one that suits him best. Although this time I have applied your method in some areas and I have tried your method.
As for the graphics, I can tell you that the issue of fonts is not my strong suit, and I think I must consolidate this deficiency that I have. But I will take your suggestions into account and make a selection of several options and present them to you and if you help me in selecting the best one, I would appreciate it.
I will proceed to take some new photos and I will show them to you later
Hello again!!! I answer you in duplicate because I don't know if the notification will jump from the other site.
You are right @alexander_fabrega-cogley . I'm not sure what happened, but for some unknown reason the notification didn't jump, so I didn't find out that you had uploaded the project with new modifications.
I have to tell you, to begin with, I really like the result with the modifications you have made. The new graphics, the use of fonts and the layout have gained clarity and elegance. I think it is a more solid and forceful result.
The scene is very well balanced and very well integrated with the graphics. All the elements of the scenery are clearly visible and the light defines the depth of the shots very well. It was a very good idea to use that shot that is not absolutely frontal.
About the variations, of course, it is not mandatory to use them. This methodology is explained in the course but you can use it or not depending on your tastes and needs.
The use of fonts, as I have told you before, seems to me to be much better, especially those on the cover with title and group name. Personally I can't quite see the use of a font like Bankgothic in song titles. I would try another serif typeface similar to the one on the cover. But this is something that has to do with my personal taste.
I'm sorry for the misunderstanding and not having answered you before.
A big hug, thanks for your willingness to accept my comments and congratulations.
