Well, it was a funny story. First of all, drawing the face was a lot of fun, because the face was so gigantic and my little window could only show about a quarter of it, so when I finished drawing it, it was a really fun surprise to see that whole face had suddenly appeared on my paper. Then when it was time to do the rest, I was eager to get started, but I'd had a visit with my eye doctor in the morning, and my eyes were dilated, and I was wearing sunglasses. I didn't want to spend eight hours watching TV while I waited for my eyes to get back to normal when what I wanted to do was to work on my project, so I just let myself go. And that's when things got strange. Many of the greens (I used a kohlrabi as an inspiration for the head) are much darker than I had planned, and I wish I knew how to fix that. I do like how the eyes turned out (I drew them before I got my eyes dilated, so, lesson learned!) Finally, when I went to post my project, I noticed that I had stopped in the middle of the second-to-last lesson (I remember now--one of my pets needed something) and forgot that I hadn't finished that one and the final one after that. I wish I'd seen those lessons before I went all crazy with my sunglasses and pencils whose colors I couldn't even see, but they were still enjoyable even though I'd already finished. "Finished." ;) I learned so much, I was fascinated watching Marco draw his beautiful frog (my favorite animal as a child) and am inspired to try again and make better choices. Thank you, Marco, for this enjoyable and helpful course, and for helping me to understand colored pencils. And thank you, as well, for covering the world with your beautiful frogs!

Those beautiful eyes…! What a strange and poetic creature 💚 I had never dreamed of greens growing like tufts, and you created this vision 🤗
And I understand and grok how you felt with your dilated eyes : it’s quite unnerving when you can’t see but still need to draw ! I have drawn while I had shingles down my arm to my fingertips, and once I drew at the hospital with an IV drip into my forearm that just malfunctioned from all this pencil action LOL so… bravo and I just LOVE this character.

Plus@stig_legrand Thank you! For some reason I am not surprised you did not let shingles or an IV stop you from drawing...I'll bet if I did some research into your journals, I would find a beautiful picture of the experience ;) !

Plus@marcomazzoniart Thank you, Marco! The eyes are my favorite, too. I am working on another project in my spare time--I want to use what I had missed in the final two lessons; it will be fun to make something more subtle.

Haha— your story IS funny!!! But dark glasses and dilated eyes or not, this is a wonderful project!! Makes me want to take this course, even though I don’t consider myself very versed at colored pencils!!!!!!
