I really enjoyed your course Ricardo, and I feel like I learned a great deal from it, despite not having access to Photoshop. It took me a long time to work through all the practice pieces, but I enjoyed the process and gained confidence as a result, and I have a lot of nice art now to look back at in my sketchbook!

I was so impressed with everyone's final pieces - so many beautiful and unique works of art - a testament to the quality of the course and the hard work of the tutor.

    I really like your work, it's very fine and very graceful; I love the bird with the caterpillars. What technique did you use?

    @picco_patricia Thank you very much. This was my favourite Domestika course so far. I found lots of free reference photos I liked, got rid of the backgrounds and moved them around into a composition I liked digitally. I traced the result digitally in a separate layer and saved it without the references below, and then I hand-sketched the image in graphite using the digital art as a reference. The last stage (phew, took a long time!) was to go over the graphite drawing and add texture using a black ballpoint pen. I saved my original hard copy to keep as an ink sketch, but had copies printed so I could play with those. The coloured one was coloured on top of the photocopy in coloured pencil. I want to add another in watercolour too but I haven't got around to starting that one yet! 🙈🙂

    @ricardomacia Hi Ricardo, and thank you. I enjoyed every minute of your course. I've worked through several, and learnt from them all, but I must say yours was the closest to my heart, and I think brought out the best in me. I love working in ink, have always enjoyed sketching in biro, and adding all the little details really appeals to me, so the way you work was right up my street.

    My gardening clients were so pleased with the drawing I made of their treasured house, which I presented to them as a leaving gift (they were so sad to leave but were growing older and finding the house and garden too much to manage). I would never have thought of doing something so detailed in biro had it not been for your course. The new owners are having a print of it as well! So thank you so much. ❤️
