I love color, but especially this type of Thonet chair does not deserve to take away the original color of the wood, its imperfections resulting from time are what make it more beautiful. Please make the project with a more ordinary and simple wooden chair, to beautify it.
@solecito35 I'm very sorry that you think like this: it's always bad news that someone tries to censor an artwork. Luckily we are certain that Mr. Thonet, a pioneer in the democratization of furniture and always concerned about adapting them to the tastes and needs of society, would be proud to see his chairs painted in the houses of this time and not in the trash because they no longer match the current decor. We are sure he would have painted them too! Oh, by the way, the original color you're referring to is actually a chocolate brown stain with which the light beech wood was stained to suit the tastes of the time and make them look like hardwood, so I guess he was. He marked the way for us;)
Hello!! I have a wooden chair quite worn and I want to leave it with the original color but in this style with which you will make it in a vintage finish, is it possible and which paint should I buy? please and excuse me
@rrdp2011 The paint we use on the vintage style chair is an ecological water-based enamel, precisely in the course we teach both how to recover the original wood and how to achieve an aged finish like this ...
