Hi Lorenzo, congratulations on your work, I'm completing your course Creating characters for illustrated books with watercolors. May I know what technique you used for the three little pigs project? I cannot understand. It looks like a mixed media.
@mra_frau Hi Maryna! First of all thank you for choosing my course :)
Yes, for this project I used a mixed technique.
The base is made with Sennelier crayons (these: https://craftelier.com/it-it/scatola-di-40-dolci-mezzo-sennelier.html/?gclid=Cj0KCQiA15yNBhDTARIsAGnwe0VFjuzcfYm_g4i1f5ftOpKHNzUw5kFVqNslezbPd5_P3DL1gR3vVGAaAge9EALw_wcB) I used them mostly just to give a glaze of color to the sheet (artistic fabriano satin 300gr). Then above I went with the pastels (luminance and polychromos) making many passes. In short, I went down heavily with the various shades of color to create a "homogeneous" and a little "mellow" effect. Finally, some details with gouache, such as straw threads or some reflections or white details.
If you are interested, write me on lorenzovoltaire @gmail .com that I will send you the pdf of this project (which was my thesis at Ars In Fabula) where inside there are all the technical tests, the sketches and the studies that I have accomplished!
You are very kind. Thanks for the care in your detailed explanation. I immediately understood that it was not an easy project. I love how you do the texture of the grass and the movement you managed to give the straw. Marvelous! Your designs come to life thanks to the careful study of movement. I would like to receive the pdf to see your work. I will write to you via email.
Best wishes, in the meantime I am training for the final project 😊.
