This is an eye opening course! Dan is teaching us to see and that is invaluable. I will enjoy this course for many, many years hoping to get better with practice 🙏🏼
Thank you very much for posting your final drawing, and congratulations on completing my 2021 Domestika course. My apologies for not getting a chance to reply sooner - activities for me, centered on in-person instruction, reach a fever-pitch in April & May, and I am far more virtually engaged these days in the creation of Patreon educational programming. The issue to overcome for your drawing is twofold:
1) tonality, values (shading); specifically, how to create & control the darkest tone in any drawing's range of lights. In the event you haven't seen it, I suggest navigating to:
https://youtu.be/RWlNvjOitkM (If you have already watch, please start at the 24 minute mark, to re-review the Darkest Light, as an essential component of tonal/value orchestrating)

Profesor PlusHi Gina,

2) hatchmark, which is a challenging discipline to demystify. I've created quite a bit of content about that very subject, through: https://www.patreon.com/collection/178777?view=expanded
In my research, the book reference which came the closest to anchoring my Hatchmark series is "The Art of Responsive Drawing," by Nathan Goldstein.
I really appreciate your compliments on my instruction!
Dan
