My project for course: Portrait Painting with Oil: Explore Light and Shade

Things I learnt:
I will be cleaner and tidier- clean your brush more often when selecting colours!
I love Rosemary and co ever green brushes- I hadn’t tried those before
I need to keep practising and stop over blending
I need to stop being stingy and mix up larger volumes of paint
I will now use the colour checking card idea
I don’t like the size and surface I painted this on
I prefer to use some safflower oil too not just thinners as I did with this
Exploring the style of another artist is fun but a challenge- I can’t paint like Jane but what I have learnt will positively influence my work.
The lips on this portrait of my son are still not right and I will attempt to fix them tomorrow 😅
