I did it! I'm so happy!!
For this class project we were required to make a sticker sheet featuring one of our characters. I got a bit carried away and ended up making FIVE characters, so my final piece wasn't so much a sticker sheet as it was a character line up ^-^
Firstly, I did some initial sketches using my mechanical pencil and A4 sketchbook. These were rough and wonky and I ended up with lots of ideas to choose from. I quite liked the supergirl character, and decided to make some friends for her.
Next, I took a photo of the images I liked and imported them into Procreate. I used the 6B pencil to do my line work, then placed a layer underneath and did quick colour experiments with the brushes "monoline", "medium brush" and "noise brush" (these are all standard Procreate brushes).
After that, I saved the JPEG files to my photo gallery and uploaded them into Affinity Designer. Using the CMYK colour profile, I vectorised my designs and added white borders around them to see how they'd look as stickers (I did this by simply duplicating the character, then I changed all the lines to white and increased the line weight).
This was the most time-consuming stage, but absolutely worth it, as I now have a collection of characters I can edit freely and scale up or down without losing quality. I can also turn these into surface patterns later down the road if I want to.
Below is the final result. This isn't my completed sticker sheet - I'm thinking to flesh out each of these characters for his/her own individual sheet with accessories.

@ilariapops Thank you, Ilaria!! Although I haven't yet made an official sticker sheet, I feel SO good about putting in the work to start creating my own kawaii characters. This is such a nice, simple process (this style of drawing isn't too heavily rendered or difficult to replicate), and I'm excited to see where I can go from here. Thank you again!! xxoo

Hi Jennifer,
Maybe I haven't looked into this course far enough, but I have
a couple of questions for you, if you wouldn't mind answering.
Once you have finished your drawings, and you have printed your
characters onto a "sticker" material, are you then using a plotter,
similar to a "Cricket", to cut around your images?
When the stickers are cut-out and finished, do they remain as a
page of stickers with a backing sheet, or do you cut them out as
individual stickers? I am guessing this could be done either way.
Look forward to hearing your answers.
"Thank You",
Jim Dasher

@rii_jed Hi, Jim!
I haven't yet bought any equipment for cutting my stickers, but yes! You have the option of cutting them out by hand or using a machine like the Cricut to cut them for you. With the Cricut, you can set the machine to either cut them out individually or cut them partially so they remain on the backing as a "sticker set" that you peel off later. You'd need to experiment with your machine settings to get the right result.
I hope that helps!
