This is my "big" painting in gouache in many years and I got very happy to follow this course. It was amazing and, Maru, you have a beautiful way of teaching.
Well, at first, for my panorama, I chose one of the main squares (a round one!) of my hometown, Santos, "Praça da Independência", with not a skyline, but a "sealine", the Gonzaga Beach. It's a place with lots of movement, people, cars and buses, but my panorama was so wide the people became almost literal ants. Although I tried to add some life on the beach, where people go for jogging, swimming or just to rest.
But... i didn't like it much. Lack of trees and plants... i think maybe I made a too wide panorama. I also used a low quality gouache. But I think it's important to leave here this first attempt.
So, after that I changed the land/seascape, bought some good quality paint (some pentel and sakura poster-color and talens too) and searched for something more inspiring to me. This time I portrayed the port channel and Fortaleza da Barra, a fortress from 1600s who defended the city from pirate attacks and invasions. The "rambla" is very beautiful and this time I liked better the result. :-)
Thank you very much, Maru. I became fond of your work! <3

Profesor PlusHello @livia_araujo thank you very much for your work, it is beautiful.
I like it because you have made two examples that explain your desire to explore and seek new energies and emotions in your drawings, that attitude is basic to evolve as an artist.
I want to tell you that I really like the two examples, I love the urban environment, especially combined with the line materials and the landscape, what can I tell you? It is really evocative and beautiful.
It is also true that the quality of the materials is very important, you have done well buying quality materials because I see that many students with good drawing skills end up very frustrated with the results of poor quality painting.
My advice is that please don't stop painting! It shows that you like it a lot and that you have a great time, you have transmitted your passion to me.
Thank you very much for sharing your project with us.
