Hello good ... I see that in the course you talk about the need for an iPhone for one of the design phases ... If we don't have an Apple device, what can we do?
Hi @kike_escalante having an iPhone is good for getting familiar with the interface elements. You can do the course anyway, of course. In fact, there is a lesson where we do a review of the most important components.
If you had an iPad or an Android mobile, it would be good for you for the prototyping part where we use the POP app.
Hello everyone...
I have the same problem, but I have an iPad2. For what you comment is valid ok?
I don't have any programming knowledge, it's not a problem, right?
Hello guys ! I have the same problem, I don't have an iPhone.
I have a Sony Ericsson with Android
And an iPad Retina ...
The question is the same that kike_escalante has asked, what do I lose compared to the course?
The course is geared towards the iPhone, but anyway, many concepts - especially the first ones, and prototyping - are common to any operating system, and they will be useful for designing any type of application.
One part of the course talks about elements of iOS. If you only have Android, it can be useful to start familiarizing yourself with the Apple operating system and looking for equivalences and differences.
In short, the ideal way to take better advantage of the course is to have an iPhone / iPad handy, but if you don't have it, we hope you will learn a lot of new things as well.
Hello! good morning José and Javier.
As I mentioned before, I want to play hard, I have a question:
I do not have Sketch 3. I have been looking to download it but I see that it is paid, is there a way to get it? Is it essential to have this program?
thanks.
Cheers
Hi Javier, good morning.
Ok, I'll try to download the trial version because I would like to see the contents directly on the Sketch application…. a few days ago I have been able to download some other previous version (from softonic) I suppose it can also help me….
Thank you!
Cheers :)
Hello guys,
Is there any other software / program other than Sketch but for windows?
I'm starting with my app, but I don't have a Mac, but a Dell i3 and a 2014 Moto G.
Hello good afternoon!
So far I have designed apps for myself, but they have never reached production with them. I have discovered your book and now your course and I think it would be great for me to improve the steps that I skip or improve others.
Would the course complement the book? or is it "the same" but in videos? To know whether to buy both or they are the same.
I have a Macbook Pro but not an iPhone, only Nexus 4 and Nexus 7, but from what I've seen I could do it and make the leap to IOS design, which also interests me.
The course content would be a practical complement to what we discussed in the book. The chapters of the book cover many more topics, but at the same time, some of them are difficult to show in practice. From my point of view, both things can serve you well.
On the other hand, it is not strictly necessary to have an iPhone. The videos can be followed with another type of phone, even if it is Nexus.
I hope my comment helps you, let me know any questions.

Profesor PlusHello @lacarteladesign ,
It is not essential, but if recommended, have Sketch. You can do many things in the same way anyway, with the program of your choice.
Anyway, there is a free trial version, on the official page:

Profesor PlusHello, @graciastotales1 .
Unfortunately, Sketch comes only for Mac, and the alternatives for Windows that we know are the same of all life (Illustrator and Photoshop).
Cheers!
