I learned so much in this class, and enjoyed it immensely, especially since Alice in Wonderland is one of my most favourite books, so I simply could not forego the joy of illustrating it.
I am fortunate to have grown up with a translated/culturally re-interpretted version of Alice, where the Chesire Cat is kind and wise and witty but not scary; and where the story of wounded time is much more prominent.
I had many iterations of the illustraiton set while working on this project, tyring water colours, ink, realistic and stylised themes, and then it all just fell in place at one moment. The details are not glued to paper, offering a theatre-style endless coombinations.

Plus@zwischen thank you! :) It was a totally unexpected twist for me- I was just arranging the elements to glue them for the final three illustrations, and they turned into a puppet theatre that took me by surprise
