Hello Moth, I want to explain something that is happening to me in case you could help me:
I have a Pen (pencil) style rotary machine with cartridge needles (Kwadron).
The problem is that sometimes despite being at a high / normal voltage (8/9) the needle enters and leaves "slowly" so that its movement is perceptible to the eye, when it should not be. That when tattooing causes the needle to spit out a lot of ink, bounce off the skin and that when you put ink on the skin it only picks up ink in some parts, it paints in fits and starts due to the low speed of the needle and I have to go over the design too many times at risk to hurt the person because it literally seems that the line was fine but when cleaning the skin the ink did not catch on the skin (despite the high voltage). When that happens to me (since it does not always happen) I try to change the needle for a new one, to check that everything is well connected, but nothing works, it usually solves only suddenly.
I believe that it is not a problem with the machine because it is recently purchased and is of quality, nor with the source that is also new (a Critical), nor with the cables or needles (Kwadron brand), nor with the material in general. , because everything is new and to make sure it has been changed several times by the store. Nor is it a bad or irregular voltage of the establishment, since it has been tested in more establishments with my material and with other people's material and it happens anyway.
I am very desperate, because I have had to tell a client to leave without getting the tattoo because as soon as I turn on the machine the needle has started to do that (go up and down visibly slow). It has happened to me for a while, and it does not always happen, it is a lottery and I am very distraught.
I can only think that there is some part of the assembly that I do wrong, although I have been tattooing clients for a few months and at first it did not happen to me (although obviously when that happens I check everything, everything.)
Hello! Nice to meet you @reylaup , I'm Dani ..... about your problem, have you tried using a current regulator? When I started in the world of tattooing, I faced the same problem of inconsistencies with the speed and force with which my needles moved, when I bought my regulator I noticed an immediate change, in addition, in the long term it will help you prevent your equipment from Damaged by variations in electrical current or blackouts :)
I hope it works for you !
@reylaup sounds more like a machine to me .... what brand is it ?! The other may be that the voltage you are using is not correct. I use the Cheyenne in 10.5 to 11 v for lines in a critical source. The other thing is to check that you are stretching the skin enough, which also sometimes happens that one forgets it. I have no doubts about the cartridges, kwadron is an excellent brand.
