I have created two crying animal portraits in honour of the animals suffering in the food industry. Somehow it seems to me that many people have trouble understanding animals have feelings too, because the faces of animals do not show emotions the way human faces do. My aim here was to express their misery on an individual emotional level and I wanted to see if I could communicate their sadness and suffering more strongly by humanising their eyes.
For this project I incorporated the digital techniques taught by Ana Miminoshvili such as the use of vector in my illustrations. Thank you so much Ana, for your inspirational course!

I find it amazing how you contrast the intense message of animal abuse with such subtle expressions and palette. It generates a very characteristic balance of your work. I loved the result!

@sophmee Thank you Sophia, That's very kind! I tried romanticizing the pain like humans often do (with f.e. Crying Child Portraits) But I also let the technique guide me a bit away from the message maybe. I think I won't let this theme go yet. Loved what you did with the Human heart! That's a beautiful theme and you really nailed the style!!
