Since I have my masters degree in Graphic Design and work in a university's animation department, I am not oblivious towards arts and crafts. But I usually work with computers and create art digitally. But for a while I have been really into traditional arts and wanted to work with my hands rather than a drawing tablet. My husband bought some watercolor paints for my birthday last year and I have been kinda playing with them on my free time. But keep feeling like I need to actually learn from a professional. So this year he bought some online courses for me, including this one, as my birthday present :) So here we are!
I tried to buy a watercolor sketchbook but could not find one that has thick pages. So I decided to work on separate papers. After I finish the course, I did a really simple binding and turned them into a sketchbook.
Okay, now is the time for the inside of the sketchbook! First I followed the exercises given by the instructor, of course...
Then I started to play around by making connections with all the exercises! First I was feeling really insecure because I was not sure what I want to do. But it all started to connect in my mind slowly.
I drew some bunnies for one of the exercises. I wanted to play with the idea of "rabbit hole" to connect that page to the next one. So I made some cutouts:
I have really enjoyed this course and planning to continue working with watercolor. But for now, this is it! Hope you liked my creations too :)

Beautiful, the rooster is my favorite. How was it born?

@vitaindaco Thank you so much! I do not know Italian so could not be sure if it is translated correctly, so sorry! I'm guessing you are asking why I kept drawing the rooster? Where does it came from? If so, while working on the "Shapes in the Clouds" exercise of the course, I saw a little rooster in the watercolor shape I made. After I drew it I really liked it and wanted to keep drawing it to connect pages together :)

Teacher PlusWow, absolutely super work!! I felt so involved in your storytelling both through your images and also as you explained your thinking behind your process through your captions. This is a wonderful collection of images and concepts and, whilst I appreciate your honesty about moments of difficulty, you have made it look so effortless! I am impressed with how you have managed to combine playful, experimental techniques (the background of your mirror fish and the streams behind the paper airplanes) with carefully constructed compositions and ideas. I LOVE the cut-out hole which works so well in this context, and your book binding is totally inspiring. Well done!
