My project for: Kawaii-Style Story Illustration

Here the whole process and final products.

Story chosen: Hänsel and Grethel
Animal version: kids dressed up as animale (raccoon and rabbit)
Story twist: using Kawaii characters to tell a cruel fable. I added a personal twist, where the kids eat the witch and (maybe) even their father…

I added the character of the cat to point out the reading direction (it’s tail), but I don’t think it was a good idea.
For the products I cut out some single episodes which work better for the single products…
