To take this course, you need chalk pastels, pastel paper, an X-Acto knife, scissors, sand paper, drawing paper, charcoal pencils, tracing paper, and spray fixative. Optional materials include a light box, spray paint, and a wacom tablet.

Dominic Bodden is an award-winning illustrator and animator based in New York City. His signature illustration style is a blend of traditional and digital image-making techniques that incorporate pastel and paper collage. Before his illustration career, he worked in fashion as a stylist and costume designer. He credits this experience for refining his eye for color, patterns, and textures, which allows him to create dynamic illustrations with an emotional impact.
