Torsten Wolber leads us through the creation of an oil portrait from the very fundamentals of the tools needed, preparation of the canvas, observation, colour mixing, and his painting process right through to the completion of the portrait. He explains why he does everything clearly and succinctly, and gives us the confidence that we, too, can produce captivating contemporary portraits in oil, because we know what we are doing and why we are doing it.

This was a very interesting and really nice course in portrait painting. I have appreciated it a lot and learned new approaches and ways to solve problems that often arise when painting from a photo. Thank you very much, I have really enjoyed watching !

Fantastic! A wonderful course in which I have found much more than I expected.
It's a shame that all the teacher's work and effort is undermined by the use of AI when making subtitles and sometimes it is not understood.

I found this course very helpful. It pushed me in the direction I needed to go to paint in a loose painterly style. It reinvigorated my painting practise restoring the joy i feel in painting something that was lost to me for many months.

I am loving this course. I was afraid that it would be too complicated or advanced knowing the works of Torsten Wolber but I am enjoying it like a girl. I didn't know it was going to be easier than it seems and it makes you really enjoy it. Even for me, since oil painting is difficult for me and I am learning the basics, it is very easy to follow. The only bad thing: the subtitles seem to be auto-generated and sometimes they don't get it right.

Great teaching, incredible method, explains in a light and focused way, we can see beyond the brush, but the way the author sees art, this type of perception goes beyond technique and gives the student a great base to apply to any painting and any painting that you are thinking about doing.
