Thank you for this interesting and helpful course. I enjoyed seeing how you approached such a complicated landscape which contained so many elements - that has been overwhelming to me in the past, but now I feel like I have a better sense of how to go about it.
I've drawn this scene using pastels before but didn't have a clue how to approach it in watercolor. Learning how to do the different textures you taught was very helpful. I've uploaded three similar pieces I painted in pastels and a fourth scene, a river scene in watercolor which I did after taking your course. I haven't yet had all the courage I need to take on a scene as complicated as the one you taught us!
The birch scenes, in case you're interested, are from Iceland, in the north. I spent the month of September in a small stand of woods overlooking a valley and a mountain opposite. The hillside was strewn with golden leaves. It was a remarkable sight!
