You chose a rich and complex dataset to work with.
It's lovely to see the process and development, from working with a spreadsheet, to prototyping with Flourish, to creating and iterating in Adobe Illustrator. Well done!
A couple of suggestions...
The final outcome (the image at the top) could benefit by having a colour key to spell out if the two graphics are linked by the same colour encoding (i.e. I assume the players in the top scorers marked in yellow are from Brazil). And in the circular visualisation, time could be potentially clarify by a break - an empty space between the start 1930 and the end 2022, as well as a label and arrow to point to where the timeline starts.
