This is my Final Project for the Course. It is a portrait of my friend’s daughter Fionnuala and it is painted in oils on a 20cm x 20cm fine textured stretched canvas. I used an acrylic ground and then drew it out using burnt umber oil paint.
That looks amazing! Am very interested in this course, but only have a limited selection of oils ( not actually used !)
Please could you tell me whether I need a specific range of colours for this course? And if so could you please give some more details.
Thank you 🎨
@attic_anne she used Winton paints, these colors: white, lemon yellow, yellow ochre, cad red hue, permanent rose, magenta, ultramarine blue, cerulean blue hue, burnt umber. I think that's all of them. Winton paints are not expensive, you can find them at Michaels in the US, or order them from Blick or Jerrys Artarama (usually cheaper). To paint her style, you'll want some synthetic flats or brights in brushes, she's using mostly Rosemary brushes. Hope that helps.
