Hi I decided to join @RaidesArt online class on Domestika
Here is my art process
I have been finding myself in an art block for a long time and really wanted some advice and guidance with my work. I have decided to draw this project using Procreate which is my most common used software currently to see if the information given in the course was applicable to all art softwares (which it is).
Though I plan on getting Art Rage and testing it out there in the future!
Firstly I want to mention something which I now find a massive time saver and overall life saver and I will continue to do! Which is the moodboards!
I struggle so much drawing and having so many references for multiple parts of drawing is incredibly helpful. It not only made my drawing better and more accurate but made the progress of creating art so much fun! Goodbye art block
I highly suggest trying this out! Thank you so much Raide for sharing this
I decided to try rendering the piece first before adding the lighting and shadows (usually I would flatten the layers and do it all together) but this gave me so much control to change the layer afterwards and I found that I really loved the dark shadows and light highlights way more than I would have usually done. Will defiantly keep this in my own art practice now!
Final piece I had so much fun adding little details, light and changing the colours
My work usually feels really flat to me and it’s something that has bothered me for a long time but this technique really made my art come alive!
I can’t thank Raide enough for this course, it has literally made me start liking my art again.
And I can’t wait to properly try it out on Art Rage!

Lehrkraft PlusAhh, I already saw this on Instagram before, but I got to comment here: -The outcome is really beautiful, and definitley a bit different from your usual artworks with that lighting ^^ I really like the sketch / lineart itself - it works well even without the colors :)
I hope you can apply the techniques you learned in future pieces too and that they will help you save time!
Thank you so much for taking my course <3

@raidesart I usually don’t go back and do a neater lineart / sketch for most of my work. I found taking that extra time to just make things clearer massively saved time rendering and it avoided a brown smudgy colour that I often spend a lot of time fixing (as I love using blending brushes.) I also realised I’ve been drawing at a really low dpi so I couldn’t get all the little details in my work I wanted, watching you create helped me to see my settings and work at a much higher dpi
I also found I really love making the colours of my work more bright and colourful 🥰 thank you for all your advice and guidance
It’s been super helpful 💕
