The final artwork!
Until now my application of colour has been really rubbish. I feel that I have improved tremendously using David's very clear and detailed demonstrations.
I am pleased with the overall outcome. My only negative comment is that I would have liked the rocks to be a bit more realistic.
Whats next ......
I have been fortunate to live in a crumbling old hill village in Greece for a few months each summer. Many younger villagers left in the 50's and 60's to escape severe post war poverty and emigrated to Australia, USA, Canada, etc. to start new lives. They left behind their parents who continued to live in the village, but sadly each year there are fewer of them left. The older houses are now being purchased and "improved" as holiday homes. I have been photographing these wonderful old decaying houses and agricultural machinery for many years and I would like to use these resources as subjects to paint.
When I saw David's artwork in this Domestika course it immediatly resonated with the subjects I would like to paint. Many thanks to David for putting this course together, sharing his techniques and finished artwork and for giving his time to provide constructive comment and encouragement. It has been a great inspiration.
