Cool! nice to see someone else trying the other shape! Was it rapid setting cement? definitely try again, and also try with some acrylic resin, if you can! Where are you based?
@philcuttance Hi Phil, I am based in Mexico, It took longer with cement but it is a material that I usually work with, so I didn't have to buy it and I am familiar with it. I would love to try with acrylic resin, I think it gives a nicer ending and more vivid colors, but I will have to wait a little bit to try with acrylic resin cause it is not cheap here in Mexico, few distributors, so I will wait until I have extra money to experiment with it. Thanks for the course, I loved it, you are amazing!
Great to hear, yeah acrylic resin gives finer detail and colours. Do you mind telling me exactly what cement you used, as I'm working on a country-specific materials list. Looking forward to seeing your next efforts!
Hi @philcuttance yes, I used white cement Portland Comex, and I mixed it 1:1 with “Marmolina” (fine marble, I am not sure what is the translation for that) :)
