My project in Chiaroscuro Creative Portrait with Pencils course

I learned a lot from this course. Marco discusses how classical painters use a lighting technique called chiaroscuro to create dramatic art where the light helps tell the story and point the viewer towards specific areas. Marco also talks about his preference for using colouring pencils to create his artworks and how he uses a very narrow colour palette.

For my final project I chose a doll's head as my subject and added a daisy flower growing out of one eye. The dairy symbolises re-birth and renewal. It grows out of the old discarded doll's head and if you squint, the flower heads look like bubbles rising into the air.
