Sustainable packaging for an airplane meal (concept)

This is a concept for sustainable packaging of an airplane meal. I made this concept for a project during my Industrial Design Engineering course at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. I had to ensure that the material of the packaging was sustainable, but also had to make sure that as many meals as possible could fit in a trolley with as little empty space as possible. In addition, there had to be as little residual material as possible.
I wanted to create a special dining experience with my packaging. This was also one of the criteria for the project. I wanted my packaging to resemble a present so that when the passenger opens the packaging, it also feels like opening a present.
During the project, an airline was chosen so that the style could also be integrated into the packaging. I chose a Japanese airline and tried to reflect this style in the packaging.
